What is Septoplasty?
Septoplasty is a surgical procedure performed to correct a deviated nasal septum, which is when the septum (the cartilage and bone that divides the two sides of the nose) is crooked or displaced, causing nasal obstruction or other breathing problems.

What is Nasal septum?
The nasal septum is the structure inside the nose that divides the nasal cavity into two nasal passages or nostrils. It is made of both bone and cartilage and plays an important role in the structure and function of the nose.
What is Nasal Turbinate?
The turbinates (also known as nasal turbinates or conchae) are curved structures inside the nose that are made of bone and mucosal tissue. They are located along the lateral walls of the nasal cavity and are responsible for warming, humidifying, and filtering the air as it passes through the nose before it reaches the lungs.
Types of Turbinates:
There are three pairs of turbinates in each nasal cavity, and they are named based on their position:
-
Inferior turbinate (the largest and most prominent).
-
Middle turbinate.
-
Superior turbinate (the smallest and located near the top of the nasal cavity).

What is Submcous resection of nasal septum?
Submucous resection (SMR) of the nasal septum is a surgical procedure to remove excess tissue from beneath the mucous membrane of the nasal septum, aiming to improve nasal airflow and address issues like a deviated septum or enlarged turbinates.
What is Thyroidectmy?
A thyroidectomy is a surgical procedure in which all or part of the thyroid gland is removed. The thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland located at the base of the neck, and it produces hormones that regulate metabolism, growth, and development.
